Learning Challenge: Sleep

Sleep is VERY important to me. Hahah, I've never pulled an all-nighter; I don't think I'd be able to. I think I have a pretty good sleeping pattern; I usually sleep 6 to 7 hours a night. I've heard that sleep is important, and these articles just confirmed that. I read Why Sleeping May Be More Important Than Studying; the title was pretty interesting. I knew that a person needed 6 to 8 hours of sleep, but this article said that REM sleep, which is towards the end of the 6 to 8 hour period is when "the brain solidifies all that was taken in the day before and clears out old, unnecessary memories to make room for new information." This is pretty necessary, so I guess that means we really do need to get at least 6 hours of sleep. Sometimes, I feel like we don't think sleep is important, so that's why when we're busy we use our sleeping time to do other things.
