Reading Notes: The Magic Fiddle (Indian Fairy Tale)

The Magic Fiddle - This was a really sad story of a sister and seven brothers. All the brothers were married, but the sister was not. Everyday, the sister prepared meals for the family, and the wives were not happy about this. So, they asked the Bonga to prevent the girl from getting water from the river. The water moved away from the pitcher whenever the girl tried to get some water, and instead the water ended up drowning her and the story goes on. She was then transformed into bamboo and then a fiddle and finds love. But anyways, I would like to retell the story where her brothers find her drowning and are able to help her. She is their cherished sister, and the wives are punished for their cruelty.
